Ceiling heating and cooling
Comfortable heating and cooling
Thermal comfort exerts a significant influence on our well-being and our health. To ensure this comfort over the long term, energy consumption must be reduced without compromising quality of life.
Thanks to the outstanding level of radiation in ceiling cooling and heating systems, it is fortunately possible to create a pleasant climate in living and working spaces even where temperature differences are minor.
KE KELIT creates systems that can ensure long-term cost savings and energy efficiency as well as the use of renewable energy, and also offers the right product for every construction situation: whether near the surface, in the concrete core or suspended in various designs, CLIMATEFIX is always the perfect solution.

Bespoke prefabrication
The large-format pipe registers in these systems are manufactured to bespoke specifications and delivered ready for installation on-site (or at the precast concrete plant). The modules are embedded in concrete near the ceiling surface. Thanks to their near-surface positioning, these systems offer significantly shorter response times than traditional core-activated slabs, allowing for demand-based control.
The system meets all heating and cooling requirements, eliminating the need for additional heating surfaces such as underfloor heating or radiators during heating mode, or additional fan coils during cooling mode. The radiant heat and cool air from this hygienic low-temperature system, combined with uniform temperature distribution, ensure maximum comfort.
In-situ concrete ceiling: KC100B16/KC150B16
The plastic pipes are prefabricated in the factory into largeformat registers using clamping rails – individually tailored to each specific construction project. In this prefabricated form, they arrive on the construction site and are fixed directly onto the formwork. The clamping rails perform a dual function: they serve both to secure the pipe registers and as spacers. The connection of the heating and cooling modules is carried out using KELOX radial press or push-fit connections. Thanks to the oxygen-diffusion-tight pipes, a system separation is not strictly necessary.
The installation of the manifold and connection pipes takes place beneath the first layer of reinforcement; this allows for the repair of any potential pipe damage caused by third parties – without compromising the steel reinforcement. This also enables subsequent connections to be made.
Prefabricated concrete floors: KCC100/KCC150
Already in the factory, the aluminium composite pipes are connected to clamping rails to form large-format registers and individually tailored to the respective construction project. In this prefabricated state, they reach the precast concrete plant, where they are positioned and fixed on the formwork. The components are then poured with concrete.
The collecting and connecting lines are installed directly onto the concrete slab. Thanks to the special design of the threading element, any leaks can be located easily and quickly. The indicator openings provided for this purpose also serve as a leakage indicator.
Application areas:
New construction of:
- office buildings
- hotels
- hospitals
- care homes
- laboratories
- retail spaces
- residential
Advantages:
- High heating and cooling capacity (up to approx. 84 W/m²): As a rule, no additional heating and cooling surfaces (underfloor heating, radiators, fan coils) are required
- Excellent controllability thanks to narrow pipe spacing and close proximity to the surface
- Quick mounting thanks to prefabricated modules
- All heating and cooling installations already installed in the shell construction phase
- Low operating costs, no maintenance costs
Plaster ceilings (CLIXOFIX G3)
The CLIXOFIX G3 modules are designed for installation in suspended plaster ceiling constructions. These modules are suitable for use in new construction as well as for retrofitting during renovations. The registers in this system are custom-manufactured and easily suspended from the ceiling’s suspended substructure. Due to the individual size adjustment, the modules can be used for all common ceiling constructions. These ceiling panels are screwed only to the substructure and not to the heat-conducting profiles, so that the different expansion rates of the materials do not cause damage.
Application areas:
New construction and renovation of:
- Offices and meeting rooms
- Retail premises
- Laboratories, clinics and hospitals
- Public buildings, airports, stations
- Lecture halls, universities, libraries
- Cinemas and theatres
- Plant rooms
- Residential
Advantages:
- High heating and cooling capacity: As a rule, no additional heating and cooling surfaces (underfloor heating, radiators, fan coils) are required
- Very responsive and easily controllable
- Rapid installation using prefabricated modules
- Clear trade separation between installer and drywaller
- Individual planking for design, performance and acoustic optimisation
- Standardised output and sound absorption
Metal ceiling sails (KCS10)
Metal ceiling sails achieve efficient room climate control. Due to the high thermal conductivity of metal, they reach high performance levels and can usually cover the heating and cooling requirements independently – without the need for additional radiators or air conditioning. Furthermore, they are easy to clean and offer design freedom for simple or sophisticated aesthetics.
Open ceiling systems, such as metal ceiling sails, cover only a part of the ceiling surface. They are typically suspended below the ceiling. Relative to the area they cover, metal ceiling sails offer exceptionally high heating and cooling efficiency and are highly effective at optimizing room acoustics.
Application areas:
New construction and renovation of:
- Lecture theatres
- Offices and meeting rooms
- Retail premises
- Public buildings, airports, stations
- Residential
Vorteile
- High heating and cooling performance
- Ideal for new buildings and renovations
- Can be combined with other active surfaces (e.g. near-surface component temperature control)
- Highly responsive and easily controllable
- Performance and acoustics optimisation
- Individual design options
Visible pipe registers (KCLC1)
Exposed ceiling temperature control is particularly recommended for warehouses, production halls, and retail spaces due to its large-format modules. The surfacemounted registers keep investment costs low and enable time-saving, straightforward installation, which is especially advantageous for large-scale ceiling areas. The system is suitable for both new builds and retrofitting into existing buildings, as it requires no extensive structural interventions and can be flexibly adapted to different room geometries.
The pipe registers are pre-assembled on large wire mesh frames at the factory and delivered ready for installation. During installation, these modules only need to be secured to the ceiling at a few points and are ready for use immediately after the hydraulic components are connected. This also eliminates the need for time-consuming measures to finish the ceiling surface. At the same time, the exposed ceiling cooling system gives the room a contemporary industrial look.
Application areas:
New construction and renovation of:
- Warehouses and production halls
- Retail spaces
Advantages:
- Fast-acting and controllable, independent of thermal mass
- High heating and cooling capacity: As a rule, no additional heating and cooling surfaces (underfloor heating, radiators, fan coils) are required
- Quick mounting thanks to prefabricated modules
The main piping and connection pipes from the cooling or heat generator to the distributors or the module transitions live in a coordinated "system infrastructure" of various pipe systems.
The following pipe systems can be used:
KETRIX PN10 till tmax 30°C; dimensions d20 - 160mm
KETRIX PN16 till tmax 40°C; dimensions d20 - 125mm
KELOX till tmax 90°C; dimensions d16 - 75mm
STEELFIX till tmax 120°C; dimensions d15 -108mm
The temperature specifications of the connection pipes refer always to the connection pipe system!
